Ribs for Military Training Exercises

Commercial Rib Charter work with a number of NATO Navies providing Ribs for military training exercises. Most exercises involve multiple Ribs in ‘swarm attacks’ on warships both as bespoke training events for individual ships as well as participation in annual Joint Warrior NATO exercises. The Ribs are transported by road anywhere around the UK coast or overseas.

Naval Warfare Officers

These training exercises have been developed around changing threat profiles, and according to the feedback, are proving invaluable to naval warfare officers preparing for deployment in high risk areas.

Safety Management System

We have a robust safety management system in place for our simulated swarm attacks which has evolved to cover all aspects of these trials and has been reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Defence amongst others.

Ribs for the Defence Industry

CRC have significant experience in supplying boats and crews for radar trials working with several branches of BAE Systems as well as Lockheed Martin and Thales. We have been involved in a number of significant projects to test advanced and experimental radars systems for military or quasi-military use including anti-piracy.

Particular Expertise

We have developed particular expertise at driving accurate predetermined patterns to measure detection from shore, ship or helicopter mounted radar equipment. A number of trials have taken place offshore involving multiple boats. We have installed satellite communication systems to our boats to allow communication and coordination outside of the range of VHF. Frequently we provide boats with different radar signatures to developers as part of their testing programmes.
