Vessels where and when you need them
CRC have significant experience with shore end landings – whether fibre optic or HV export cables. Our experienced crews understand the sensitivity of handling cables together with the risks and costs involved. We work hard with clients to mitigate risks and ensure landings go smoothly. Often several vessels are required to manipulate the ‘bight’ in a cable; we have vessels of various sizes and capabilities (with bollard pulls of several tonnes).

Shore end landing vessels
We have a large fleet of open Ribs and cabin Ribs which are both nimble and manoeuvrable – perfect for attaching to cables. With drafts of less than 80cm, we operate safely very close to land. All of our vessels are coded for 24 hour operation should an overnight landing be scheduled. Our open Ribs can be fitted with ‘bow push modules’, retractable cable pushers which allow the Ribs to push on cables instead of pulling, providing far more control and greater bollard pull if required.
Crew transfer vessels
We have a wide range of specialist shallow draft CTVs capable of carrying 12 passengers in comfort. Our shallow draft crew transfer vessels draw as little as 80cm and are thus navigable much closer to shore than usually possible.
Pontoons
CRC own several thousand square meters of modular pontoons which can be mobilised and installed within a day. These have been utilised on cable landings with great success not least for providing temporary piers allowing us to carry out crew changes straight from shore as well as transferring technical personnel between the shore and any vessel involved.
